We are looking for a team member that strong expertise/knowledge/skills to contribute to the development and execution of company objectives.  This associate will generally considered a lead within the department.  Has depth of experience in own specialty and leverages actuarial concepts and in-depth evaluation of various factors to solve complex issues.  May oversee, monitor and analyze developments in actuarial techniques, research into laws and regulations applicable to company or actuarial science, and analysis of competitive developments in the marketplace.  Plays active role in preparation and interpretation of data and related formulae. Works with complex systems and may design systems.  Considered lead resource in the Actuarial space and is established in the role as guardian of the company's financial and/or product interests. 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Life insurance product owner with 10+ years of experience in life insurance product design and development
  • Preferred life product experience includes universal life, variable universal life, indexed universal life, term and chronic illness / Long Term Care riders
  • Leads life product projects and provides direction to actuarial students or junior team members
  • Engages with internal business partners in Sales, Finance and Risk relative to product solutions for profitable growth
  • Owns end-to-end product development process and shepherds product development from research and design to launch
  • Accountable for Product Design and Pricing Risk Management Policy and internal thresholds for profitability and risk
  • Measures and manages emerging profitability of new and inforce business

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or math/statistics required.

 

At least eight years experience in product, valuation, actuarial, or investment departments.  Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience as an owner/designer and developer of life insurance products

 

ASA and MAAA designation required (must be qualified to sign in the US).  FSA preferred.

 

Preferred life product experience includes universal life, variable universal life, indexed universal life, term and chronic illness / Long Term Care riders

 

Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Access and VBA.

Experience with pricing/ALM software such as MG ALFA or GGY AXIS preferred.  

 

Strong communication skill and the ability to present complex concepts and analysis to all levels including Senior leadership.
