Empower Retirement currently has an opening for a Specialist - Issue/Loan Resolution. The Specialist is, under general direction, responsible for monitoring and responding to incoming client service requests, performs research, analysis, processing and quality checking of customer requests, and account adjustments in the Benefits and Loan Administration Departments.

 

This is a part-time position with less than 20 regular hours a week. The position will be Monday - Friday with flexible work hours.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Balance individual workloads consisting of Service Requests, assist calls, e-mail requests, etc
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a variety of factors. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Prioritize and complete all applicable processing in accordance within departmental, corporate, IRS, Department of Labor, FINRA and SEC regulations and requirements.
  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships. Explains information and persuades others in straightforward situations.
  • Monitor control reports, gain/loss, suspense accounts and tax form research, including corrections, clearing, and reconciliation.
  • Research/resolve unique, complex and escalated account problems.
  • Communicate with internal and external clients both written and verbal

Qualifications

  • Two year degree strongly preferred or equivalent industry experience
  • 2 years of directly related financial and/or industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of retirement industry regulations (Distributions, Contributions, Taxation, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to research and problem solve.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
