The Strategic Relationship Manager will serve on a team Strategic RMs that service Empower's top 50 advisors. The RM will be responsible for supporting and maintaining these relationships and ensuring the client's overall service needs are satisfied.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as contact and reference for the purpose of answering questions and resolving complex and escalated problems regarding all aspects of product and plan operation such as administration, investment products, policies and procedures, regular partner reviews and on-going servicing.
  • Interface with block partner and internal constituents to understand overall objectives and requirements; prepare product build out strategy to create an optimal product offering for the advisor firms.
  • Communication roll out and training on new functionality and services.
  • Identify opportunities to improve plan recordkeeping and operations. Provide periodic updates and reports pertaining to initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and monitor policies, procedures, reporting and service support for all Partner issues.
  • Train and mentor staff.
  • Build a long term partnership with partner to understand overall objectives to ensure relationship profitability.
  • Balance and prioritize multiple projects and workloads to meet business needs.
  • Regional and multi-state travel with overnight stays required.


  • Bachelors degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience to include knowledge of retirement plan industry; trust administration; participant recordkeeping; plan compliance; partner or plan consulting; and relationship management.
  • Ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the marketplace including employers, employees and intermediaries, and have the ability to influence internal and external clients and partners.
  • Have wide ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative ways.
  • Solid understanding of client relationships and ability to view work in a strategic manner.
  • Thorough working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous project management experience including ability to manage multiple complex projects.
  • Previous client service/relationship management experience.
  • Avanced knowledge of IRS codes, along with recordkeeping and administration experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and lead projects simultaneously; works independently with solid problem solving, negotiation and critical thinking skills.


FINRA Series 6 required within established timeframes.
