Position Highlights

The Product Launch Manager connects product strategy to execution by driving specific product development initiatives, including registered products, to market.  May be assigned to work as internal consultants to assist business leaders with the development of new processes, business plans, strategic initiatives or the overall roadmap for a specific business area on an ad-hoc basis.  Frequently will be required to lead several initiatives simultaneously. 

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Direct all activities required to drive a new product, product extension or platform enhancement from concept through launch. Assume a management role on assigned initiatives to coordinate and guide activity across a broad range of functional areas including but not limited to: product development, marketing, operations, project management, legal, compliance, finance, sales and business unit leadership
  2. Prioritize efforts, identify issues and drive execution while working directly with senior business leadership and product manager. Conduct problem analysis, prepare recommendations for action and implement approved decisions.
  3. Manage large, cross-functional teams (potentially including contractor resources) and complex projects that may include the development of processes / procedures for handling new products. Lead teams to creative solutions to meet scope, schedule and cost constraints. 
  4. Provide leadership in driving communication to all stakeholder groups, including senior management, other functions and the project team.
  5. Create detailed work plans, timelines, issues logs, project estimates and resource assignments. Obtain sign-off on all deliverables from key parties.
  6. Develop and review deliverables to ensure solutions match requirements and adhere to current business standards. Ensure factual, timely and quality project status, tracking, analysis and reporting.  Provide daily technical and procedural guidance to the project team.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, finance, management or other). MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of work experience including a combination of:
    • Product management or product development experience.
    • Financial Service industry experience – work with annuity products, life insurance products or retirement recordkeeping services a plus.
    • Management consulting experience or in an internal consultant role.
  • Demonstrated ability to :
    • Deliver results without direct authority over resources.
    • Communicate effectively across functional areas and at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, strategic planning and project management skills.
  • FINRA Series 6 registration required within 90 days of hire / transfer date.
