The Network Architect will be responsible for the planning, design and build, of a IP LAN/WAN infrastructures including routing, switching, wireless, network security, supporting 35+ US locations, with locations in Canada and India. Will develop, document, and implement best practices and standards. Will work on multiple projects acting as a network lead on issues of high complexity that require in depth knowledge of multiple technical areas. Must provide high level network design and implementation skills and combine technical intelligence with communication and presentation abilities. Must be an individual contributor capable of self-directed work showing strong leadership and client relationship skills and who is focused on driving the complete network project.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identifies opportunities for continuous quality improvement of technical standards, methodologies, and technologies.
  • Configure and maintain network equipment such as routers, switches, load balancers, and wireless networks.
  • Provides technical expertise in systems, technical infrastructure, tools, modeling, external interfaces, and other areas. Completes complex development, design, implementation, architecture design specification, and maintenance activities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of IT development methodology, architecture design, and technical standards. Mentors IT staff with less experience.
  • Conduct research and evaluation of network technology and recommend purchases of network equipment.
  • Expert knowledge in routing and switching.
  • In-depth working knowledge pertaining to wireless network infrastructure, vendors and their products.
  • Troubleshoot highly complex data, voice or video network and hardware problems.
  • Develops strategies and direction for network and public cloud solutions using current and emerging technologies.
  • Translate business requirements into network process designs.
  • Perform analysis & trending of utilization and growth providing a proactive design based on the demands of the business.

Qualifications

Preferred technical qualifications:

  • In-depth hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, Redistribution and Traffic Engineering on ISR and ASR 1K routers
  • Experience in complex MPLS/BGP WAN design and implementation for multisite connectivity and redundancy
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus 9k, 7k, 5k and 2ks, Catalyst 4500, 6500 and 6800 series
  • Advanced networking troubleshooting skills and methods across the OSI model
  • Experience with Citrix Netscaler and F5 load balancer configuration and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Wan Optimization and SD-WAN technologies such as Silver Peak, Viptela, and/or Riverbed
  • Experience with the deployment and support of centralized wireless technologies such as Cisco WLCs, Meraki, and/or Aerohive
  • Working knowledge of SDN technologies such as ACI and/or NSX a plus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/MIS/CIS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • CCIE or other industry certifications strongly desired.
  • 7+ years of strong Cisco Network Engineering experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read and process complex technical information.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Preferred experience with Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with end-users, peers, managers and vendors.
  • Ability to pull and analyze data for helping drive continual operational improvement.
  • Experience designing, configuring, installing, maintaining and supporting corporate data center and site network environments to meet the company's requirements for availability, performance, security and scalability.
  • Design and implement appropriate levels of capabilities and redundancy to support HA and DR requirements.
  • Experience with designing and implementing large-scale networks, network routing, switches, and internet-related networking and security technologies.
  • Experience designing, ordering, installing and maintaining public cloud connectivity.
  • Routing – BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Redistribution and Route Selection.
  • Experience in complex MPLS/BGP WAN design and implementation.
