Leads team(s) that develops, implements, and maintains highly complex proprietary and/or purchased software systems/applications in support of the financial services and investments divisions.  Leads and performs the design, coding, modification, testing, debugging, integration and documentation of applications from specifications dealing with the overall operating system including core and/or external web interfaces, sophisticated file maintenance, accounting systems, and/or document production.  Documents system/application scope and objectives, leads projects across functional teams within systems, and measures delivered performance against expected results.  May serve as applications architect within assigned areas.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Leads team(s) in the design, development and repair of logic that drives highly complex software systems/application functionality.  Works closely with technical specialists and systems leadership on the most complex and/or integrated systems/applications issues.
  2. Leads key portions of the system development lifecycle including designing, coding, testing, documenting, installing, maintaining, and supporting of proprietary and/or purchased software systems/applications.
  3. Develops, scopes and implements testing strategies to ensure delivered performance and quality against end-user requirements. Performs more complex tests and documents findings within defined scope. Makes decisions regarding application enhancements as necessary.
  4. Assigns individual staff to projects of varying scope.  Ensures projects are completed on time and within predefined requirements and budgets.  Communicates projects status to project teams and liaises project issues to systems and business leadership as necessary. Accountable for team performance within assigned projects.
  5. Ensures that subordinates perform work as prescribed by policies and procedures in order to achieve productivity, service, quality standards quotas and goals.  Assigns work and resources to subordinates to achieve productivity, service, and quality standards.  Administers and executes policies and procedures typically affecting subordinates.  Has limited authority to make exceptions to policy and procedures.  Makes recommendations on pay, performance, appraisals, work schedules, discipline and hiring.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience. 

Other Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in related systems or business field is strongly desired.
  • Minimum six (6) years experience including at least two (2) years experience leading projects while being accountable for team performance and/or directly managing people.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions:Normal office working conditions.
