Under general supervision, installs, maintains, and conducts performance monitoring of moderately complex Database  management Systems (DBMS) in support of the financial services, investments, and/or corporate divisions.  Partners closely with IT Development, IT Architecture, IT Operations and business management teams to provide efficient application and product stability and availability.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Installs, maintains, and conducts performance monitoring of moderately complex Database Management Systems (DBMS). Performs release of database builds in various production and non-production environments.
  2. Participates in the design, creation, and maintenance of applications that use DBMS data storage.
  3. Consults with and advises users on access to various databases. Maintains the corporate data dictionary.
  4. Performs quality control, security, and auditing activities to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Works directly with application developers to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage.
  5. Participates in on-call DBMS support rotation. Troubleshoots and resolves moderately complex database issues.
  6. Works under general supervision. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience.

Other Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years relevant database administration, systems development or systems administration experience.  (This changed so that we can still bring in real junior people)

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

 

Ability to work required shifts including weekend, evening and on-call as necessary.
