Position Highlights

Great-West is committed to building its presence with distributors and advisors who offer retirement products. This role will be responsible for creating plans and executing programs that enable Great-West to build its brand among financial advisors and distributors.  The position will report to Vice President, and Head of Individual Markets marketing. He/she will partner closely with sales, distribution and marketing leadership to develop and execute a promotions strategy that will help our wholesalers build strong relationships with financial advisors and generate sales.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Primary marketing point of contact and subject matter expert for creating and executing an integrated promotions plan that includes campaign management, direct mail, and digital/email campaigns.
  • Build and execute an activation strategy to establish a strong presence in financial distribution and industry events.
  • Design and implement Great-West and Empower events 
  • Build a marketing plan and calendar for product campaigns
  • Promote thought leadership and value-add content to distributors and advisors.
  • Build product and promotion strategy to distribution partners and advisors.
  • Create best in class thought leadership presentations and digital properties working closely with internal creative agency and business partners.
  • Partner with internal creative agency and analytics team to track and measure all promotional activities to improve and enhance promotional efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in Marketing or other related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience: Marketing, management and sales, preferably in financial or retirement services or related industries.
  • FINRA License 6 and 63 within 90 days of hire
  • 5 or more years of experience driving and implementing successful brand and promotions strategies and programs for large and complex organizations
  • Experience in the area of creating and implementing marketing plans for B2B businesses.
  • Proven project management and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Proven experience developing marketing tools and activation in an asset management, financial planning and/or life insurance firm from start-to-finish is highly desirable. If background is not from Financial Services, ability to learn financial products quickly is a must
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can thrive with minimal supervision
  • High competency in Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
