Position responsible for accurate and timely accounting for investments and investment programs, as assigned, on an IFRS, USGAAP, USSTAT basis along with financial statement reporting support, regulatory reporting support and managerial reporting support with significant focus on derivatives.
1- Responsible for investment accounting for U.S. and Canadian GAAP requirements of the Insurance Company, subsidiaries and affiliates. May perform accounting on complex instruments including derivatives. May perform monthly accounting close process.
2-Interprets new pronouncements and guidelines issued by authoritative associations in relation to U.S and Canadian GAAP accounting and reporting. Recommends appropriate changes to accounting systems. Recommends accounting alternatives and prepares and maintains accounting policy documentation.
3-Coordinates investment presentation in the financial statements on a quarterly basis. Ensures reporting consistency in the financial statements, board reports and information provided to analysts. May assist with financial statement presentation of complex instruments. Assists with quarterly and year end financial reporting tasks as necessary.
4-Responsible for coordinating U.S. and Canadian GAAP audits for Investments and explaining Company's position. Will respond to audit requests.
5-Assists with the maintenance of the securities accounting systems (PAM and IRDB), including analysis and testing of new releases. May assist with review of new security master files.
6-Assists manager with review of work, special projects and ad hoc requests as necessary.
7-Other duties as assigned.
