Responsible for proactively educating participants on opportunities to increase their savings and improve their retirement readiness, including assisting participants with incoming rollovers into their current employer’s retirement plan with Great-West FinancialSM. Directly responsible for achieving specific sales goals for a target customer segment through the various funnels. Position is responsible for both individual and team goals. Bonus opportunity directly linked to quarterly results.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Initiate sales activity through proactive out bound marketing calls to participant in employer sponsored plans. Pro-actively contact current retirement plan participants to educate and provide solutions related to incoming roll over options, increasing retirement plan deferrals and suggesting catch up contributions when applicable.
  • Answer and respond appropriately to operational and procedural inquiries from current retirement plan participants via inbound/outbound calls in-order to identify and/or close a sales opportunity. Demonstrate resourcefulness to deliver accurate product and industry information. Develop, maintain and foster positive/enhanced working relationships with participants.
  • Initiate proactive/follow-up phone calls to the participant and previous retirement plan provider to facilitate the necessary process to transfer assets to GWRS products. Responsible for handling pending issues to ensure timely and satisfactory completion of the rollover.
  • Effectively diagnose client issues and problems. Demonstrate appropriate insight and judgment to resolve issues/problems through education/sales on appropriate products. Identify and explore exception processing possibility. Demonstrate knowledge of FASCore transaction requirements.
  • Updates and maintains account history and daily activity records based on participant calls in order to develop/track future sales opportunities. Will be required to track and monitor the success rate and overall customer satisfaction through the sales process.
  • Other duties as assigned which may involve some or all of the following: staff meetings, product seminars/training, meeting all federal and state requirements as they pertain to securities and insurance regulations etc., in support of strategic department and firm initiatives.


  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • 4+ year’s customer service and/or outbound sales experience in financial services or 401k industry
  • Previous wholesaling experience a plus
  • FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 required within 90 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills; strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Comprehensive PC skills including knowledge of Great-West's recordkeeping system preferred
  • Solid practical understanding of internal policies and procedures as well as our product offerings and the mutual fund industry
  • Thorough knowledge of retirement plans (401k, 403b, 401a, 457, etc.)
  • General expertise on mutual fund products and services required
  • Proven sales skills – convincing, persuasive, and credible, thinks fast on feet, highly motivated to succeed and welcomes challenges, detail oriented, ability to learn quickly, and retain information
