    Manages one or more teams involved in the analysis, configuration, development, customization and implementation of applications. Ensures projects are completed within committed time and budget and are integrated with other applications. Generates implementation and support policies, standards and procedures.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Manages staff and subordinate managers responsible for the analysis, configuration, customization and implementation of applications.
    • Communicates and coordinates with other team leads, business leadership, and Project Management to ensure the appropriate integration of processes and modules. Drives the design and implementation of new business processes with organizational structure and required configuration. Considers technical, system and infrastructure resource requirements for proposed changes.
    • Manages the accurate development and maintenance of functional and/or technical documentation. Delegates maintenance and revisions to staff and subordinate managers as necessary.
    • Manages application quality assurance including the development and execution of test plans through direct reports. Recommends modifications to applications to systems leadership and key stakeholders. Ensures delivery satisfies system and business requirements.
    • Manages 1st and/or 2nd level support coverage in response to highly complex issues. Implements policies and procedures for ongoing maintenance as they require creation or revision. Schedules staff for on call coverage as necessary.
    • Assigns teams and individual staff to projects of varying scope. Ensures projects are completed on time and within predefined requirements and budgets. Communicates projects status to business leadership and liaises project issues to systems leadership. Accountable for team performance within assigned projects.
    • Establishes, interprets and adjusts standards by which subordinates operate. Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns projects/work for the department. Is ultimately responsible for success of all departmental projects. Has authority to make exceptions to policy or procedures. Makes decisions on pay, performance, appraisals, work schedules, discipline and hiring.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience. 
    • Master's degree in related systems or business field is strongly desired.
    • Minimum eight (8) years relevant experience designing and/or supporting system applications, including at least six (6) years experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.
    • Operates with substantial latitude for un-reviewed action or decision.Understand operating budget for the department and work within budget. Identify opportunities to increase productivity or reduce expenses.Internal contact with all areas of the company depending on active projects External contact with vendors and auditorsInterviewing, selecting, and training employees.
    • Coaching and developing employees.
    • Writing and conducting performance reviews.
    • Distributing work among employees.
    • Teams greater than 10

     

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Normal Office Working Conditions. May be required to work on-call shifts as necessary. Overtime may be required. Other physical duties as required.
