    You will work with your product management counterpart to define product release requirements. You will also serve as an internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

    Acting independently under consultative direction, develops, implements and maintains highly complex proprietary and/or purchased software, systems/applications in support of the financial services and investments divisions.

     

    Leads and performs the design, coding, modification, testing, debugging, integration and documentation of applications from specifications dealing with the overall operating system including core and/or external web interfaces, sophisticated file maintenance, accounting systems, and/or document production.

    Documents system/application scope and objectives

    Leads projects across functional teams within systems, and measures delivered performance against expected results

    May serve as applications architect within assigned functions

    Identify skills gaps within the team and mentor or setup training to close the gaps

    Primary Responsibilities

    Designs, develops and/or repairs logic that drives highly complex software systems/application functionality

    Works closely with technical specialists and systems leadership on the most complex and/or integrated systems/applications issues.

    Leads/performs key portions of the system development lifecycle including designing, coding, testing, documenting, installing maintaining, and supporting proprietary and/or purchased software systems/applications

    Develops, scopes and implements unit testing strategies to ensure delivery against end-user requirements. Performs more complex tests and delivery against end-user requirements. Performs more complex tests and documents findings within defined scope

    Decomposes tasks, defines milestones, create schedules and estimates development resources for projects. Ensures the completion of project/program milestones under the general guidance of immediate supervisor

    Leads or manages projects of varied scope.

    Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. May assign, monitor and review progress and accuracy of  work, directing efforts and providing technical guidance on more complex situations

    Mentor and train lower level staff.

    Partner with business partners to build and execute customer roadmaps

    Create, maintain, prioritize, and sequence the product backlog based on business value or ROI with  with acceptance criteria and verify/accept the outcome of each sprint

    Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information

    Use clear goals to communicate the project vision at the beginning of every release and sprint so that the team understands and is equipped to realize it

    Drive project planning, daily stand-up meetings (scrums), reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings.

    Evaluate availability of resources against project timelines

    Help us incorporate industry best practices and important developments into our products

     

     

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related field (Information Systems, Mathematics, Software Engineering 

    Other Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum four (4) years related systems experience working on technologies and business intelligence.
    • Experience in working with large datasets.
    • Expert-level SQL knowledge

    Other desirable experience:

    • Financial/Insurance Industry knowledge
    • Tableau certification is a plus.
    • Web development using HTML, Javascript and CSS.
    • A solid understanding of project lifecycle methodology.
    • Experience with agile development methodology and iterative development.
    • Use Tableau to create innovative executive dashboards, scorecards, and weekly/monthly reports on the status of key business measurements.
    • Demonstrated ability to present and provide meaningful business insights from data, not just produce reports.
    • Experience with Java-based web development.

    Being available for rotational on-call duties and actively participates in research and resolution of such issues on a timely basis.
