    The Sr Analyst Financial Reporting will under general direction, the role prepares, analyzes and reviews financial statements for the six non-life entities in accordance with US GAAP and Statutory accounting standards. Prepares, coordinates, and analyzes financial information into meaningful audit committee slides. Prepares, explains and reviews analytical movements from period to period for each entity. Prepares governmental surveys as needed. Supports internal and external audit processes. Performs, monitors, mitigates and remediates SOX compliance issues.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Prepares, analyzes and reviews non-life financial statements. Coordination with other financial reporting staff and internal Company departments to ensure consistency of the numbers, where applicable, in reporting to other regulatory agencies. Ensures filings are accurate and timely in accordance with US GAAP and Stat accounting standards.
    • Assist in preparing slides for the associated audit committees of the non-life entities. This includes take financial information off the financial statements and condensing it into readable slides for an audit committee.
    • Prepare analytics for each non-life entity to enable a reviewer to understand the business activities for the period in question. Think critically about variance explanations and whether it makes sense with the overall Company dynamics.
    • Prepare government surveys ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Monitors and stays abreast of any accounting guidance updates as it relates to the non-life financial statements. Also, keeps informed of industry best practices as it relates to investments and other applicable GAAP guidance. Stays abreast of all compliance regulatory changes that may impact the business.
    • Supports internal and external audit processes as needed. Acts as a liaison to other areas of the business on financial reporting questions and issues. Performs, monitors, mitigates and remediates SOX compliance issues identified through internal and external audit processes.
    • Works with systems and projects teams to automate, maintain, update, and improve existing processes and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Math, related field, or equivalent experience.

    Other Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum four (4) years of experience in accounting and/or finance roles. One or two years in public accounting is a plus.
    • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills required; advanced Excel skills required.
    • SAP experience preferred.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail required.
    • Ability to independently analyze data, problem solve solutions, and present options.
    • Ability to work independently with all levels of management.

     

     

     

    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:  Normal Office Working Conditions During critical reporting periods overtime is expected (including weekends, evenings and holidays).
