    The primary purpose of the Security Strategic Initiatives role is to manage the non-operational components of the Information Security program.  This includes full responsibility for the expense budget, project intake process, security related communications, reporting (budget, project status, monthly metrics, etc.), and working with the CISO to develop the strategic vision and program roadmap.

    This position requires working closely with the CISO and all members of the Information Security management team, as well as key individuals within IT and the business.  While providing expertise and guidance in managing the budget, this role has ownership of knowing operational expense actuals and forecast at any given time throughout the year.  Strong organizational and project management skills are required to manage the department’s project intake process through the various stages of internal ownership and status reporting.  This position is responsible for managing the communication plans for security related deployments and security communications.  Communication plans may include executive, management, and all associate communications, and require strong written communication skills to ensure the most effective messaging.  This position must be able to promote the work being done by the entire team in a format easy to understand by other teams (project status reporting, monthly metrics reporting, time tracking actuals reporting, etc.)

    Primary Responsibilities

    • This is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of job duties and the position will perform other duties as assigned.
    • Manage the $13MM Information Security budgetPossess an extensive knowledge of expense management, attention to detail for reconciliation and reporting, understanding of various accounting methods (depreciation, amortization, prepaids) to ensure budget is planned appropriately. Track all invoices paid by our cost center and reconcile with SAP weekly, at a minimum, to ensure cost center synchronization with Finance.  The ability to manage change is critical to the success of managing the Information Security budget.  Work closely with the Accounts Payable team on reconciliation details.
    • Work closely with the Vendor Relations Team and Purchasing Team on new purchases and renewals. Facilitate the request for purchase orders for new purchases and renewals following required internal processes. 
    • Produce reports from basic weekly summaries, to comprehensive monthly and year-to-date.
    • Facilitate quarterly budget re-forecasts and annual budget planning. Work closely with the CISO and management team to understand business as usual expense as well as new project expense.  Record quarterly re-forecasts and entire annual budget in the required Finance tools for organizational roll up and review.
    • Manage the internal project intake process
    • Responsible for the maintenance and update of the project intake process flow. Serve as point person for other IT departments and business for incoming requests.  Manage requests through established process flow until a Project Owner is assigned.  Report status throughout process.
    • Manage Information Security communication plans
    • Establish meetings with key project/deployment resources to determine communication needs. Develop communication plans based on specific requirements of the deployment.  Manage all aspects of the communication plan including timeline, distribution, development of actual communications, and review by Corporate Communications and CISO.
    • Produce required reports to assist the CISO and Information Security management team in managing day-to-day operations. This includes a wide variety of reports in several different reporting tools.
    • Strategic vision for program development
    • Work directly with the CISO to develop a roadmap to establish the direction and enhance the strength of the overall program. Evaluate the roadmaps of the management team and ensure they support the direction and goals of the program roadmap.
    • Functional Data Steward for data governance
    • Primary Information Security point of contact for the Data Governance team to provide security and data classification needs. Review periodic business glossary terms and assess data classifications.  Provide each Business Data Steward with feedback on classifications.  Develop and manage the data classification processes and documentation required by the Data Governance team.

    Qualifications

    • Prior experience managing a large operational expense budget including hardware depreciation, software amortization, tracking/reconciliation, and accounting principles.
    • Proven project management skills including the ability to manage, plan, prioritize, and complete assignments with minimal supervision. Ability to manage ad hoc requests and multiple priorities.
    • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to re-prioritize in a fast paced changing environment. Proven track record of taking initiative and delivering results required.
    • Strong written communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within the organization required.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within teams.
    • Intermediate knowledge of information security, business continuity/disaster recovery, and related concepts preferred.
    • Experience working within large technology organizations preferred.
    • Preferred experience in at least one of the following areas: SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Project, Power Point, Excel).
    • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Communications).
