    Leads an AAG functional area at the business unit level to drive participant engagement strategies to increase personalization, satisfaction, increased enrollment and retention. May direct an organization with multiple levels of managers, cross functional business teams and professional employees, although the breadth of the reporting organization may vary.  Decisions and financial responsibility may be shared with successive management levels. Diplomacy and the authority to influence or determine outcome or resolutions are ongoing aspects of this job. Complex problem solving, decision-making, and broad, technical skills within one or more functional areas are prerequisites for this level of job.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • The Director will collaborate to develop a participant engagement and cross team interaction model that emphasizes the Participant Advisory Services programs and promotes and sustains managed account enrollments.
    • This role will be strategically focused and held accountable for maximizing Managed Account Service membership activity by measuring, reporting, and managing to quarterly and annual business goals and identifying strategic initiatives intended to drive Participant Advisory Services utilization and/or client satisfaction across Empower Retirement segments.
    • Lead a team to deliver strategic distribution, enrollment and retention strategies to promote the Participant Advisory Services
    • programs provided by Advised Assets Group, LLC (AAG) and grow Managed Account Service assets under management; and
    • Manage the activity of the AAG Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) Field Representatives to meet strategic objectives of increasing AUM, enrollments and personalization; and
    • Work closely with AAG Segment Managers and Empower Retirement segment leaders to develop, actively initiate and grow the distribution model, and
    • Partner with participant marketing and participant web to drive/influence participant messaging and engagement directed to improve response rates to personalization, satisfaction and enrollment.
    • Responsible for reporting engagement rates and setting strategic direction for improvements
    • This role leads a team of subject-matter experts on the AAG and Managed Accounts products and services and collaborates significantly with the AAG Segment Leadership and Empower Segment Leaders to distribute these products through their participant-facing organizations.
    • Develops metrics, reports, ad hoc analytics, and AAG support efforts to identify opportunities to maximize the efficiency and productivity of the Empower Retirement segment personnel.
    • Develops presentations and drives conversations with key or influential Plan Sponsor contacts to promote the Participant Advisory Services program
    • Contributes AAG and Participant Advisory Services expertise to the development or revision of Participant Advisory Service participant communications with product organizations and marketing to ensure appropriate service positioning
    • Lead and direct teams to partner with AAG Segment managers and Empower Retirement Segment service teams to recommend best practices for client-specific marketing plans to increase participant adoption and/or satisfaction in the Managed Account Service. Tracks and reports on the execution of said client specific strategic plans
    • Influence and lead Field Representative initiatives to align with Advisory Services business objectives
    • Strategically focused on RIA Field Representative business goals. Accountable for performance standards and timely metric reporting.  Capable of responding to observed opportunities through the development, proposal to management, and execution of business enhancing initiatives.
    • Provides direction to team of AAG Registered Investment Adviser field representatives.
    • Helps to develops RIA Field Representatives in all market segments to provide a high quality, retirement readiness focused, value-added interaction model. Establishes and maintains a consultation review program to provide ongoing training and coaching in order to maintain high quality consultations and consistency across the team. Drives overall team productivity to maximize results with given resources. Partners with management of other participant facing teams (ex. AAG Call Centers, Participant Client Services, IRA teams, etc.) to promote AAG s advisory services and transfers between call centers.  Tracks, reports and manages metrics around source and conversion rates.
    • Ad-hoc Service Utilization Projects: Works with other AAG managers/directors as well as Empower Retirement sales, client management, participant education specialists, compliance, legal, systems, and/or marketing, as needed, on ad-hoc initiatives to drive growth in Participant Advisory Services utilization and/or client satisfaction including but limited to participating in meetings with large or key AAG clients to review the AAG participant education and enrollment service model.
    • Performs duties inherent in a managerial role. Conducts performance reviews, approves requests for vacation/PAL, manages performance issues, and has hire/fire authority. 
    • Trains, coaches, mentors and directs the work of direct reports.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in a Business related field or equivalent experience.
    • FINRA Series 65 license required within established timelines.
    • Ten years experience in retirement and/or investment industry
    • Familiarity with Managed Account products & platforms required
    • Proven managerial and leadership skills to manage product and service specialties broadly throughout an organization.
    • Exceptional influencing skills are required.
    • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced, changing environment
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint highly preferred.
