    Under general supervision, will strive to provide financial wellness and retirement solutions during all phases of a participant’s life. Delivers personalized consultations detailing solutions best suited to the retirement planning needs of Empower-Retirement clients. Provides guidance, advice, professional account management (MTR), financial wellness, and financial planning. It encompasses all services that support first dollar in to last dollar out solutions for participants – including distributions into or out of plans, saving, investing, consolidating and investing in additional products or services based on the participant’s needs. Will be held accountable for meeting monthly and annual sales goals.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Leverages Empower’s CONSULT model to identify participant needs and help navigate them to appropriate next steps. Provides financial wellness and planning to a target group of Empower customers. Obtains knowledge of the participant’s financial portfolio objectives, asset composition and past historical information. Provides education and point in time advice on topics to help a retirement plan participant become best prepared for retirement, including; My Total Retirement (managed accounts), rollover into plan options, optimized investment allocation and savings amounts, financial planning, general financial wellness, health savings accounts (HSAs), distribution options and additional products/solutions aligned with the customer’s needs. Educates or advises participants on Empower Managed Account solutions, when appropriate, and enrolls participants into a Managed Account solution.  Provides a single point of contact for new enrollee, active or potential plan participant to successfully onboard into the plan and grow their assets in the plan to achieve their retirement goals.   
    • Answers and responds appropriately to operational and procedural inquiries from current retirement plan participants via inbound/outbound calls in-order to identify and/or close a sales opportunity. Demonstrates resourcefulness to deliver accurate product and industry information. Develops, maintains and fosters positive/enhanced working relationships with participants.
    • Initiates proactive/follow-up phone calls on behalf of the participant to current or prior provider to begin the necessary paperwork to transfer money into or out of Empower products. Will be responsible for handling pending issues to ensure timely and satisfactorily completion of the rollover of funds into or out of the plan.
    • Effectively diagnoses client issues and problems. Demonstrates appropriate insight and judgment to resolve issues/problems through education/advice on appropriate solutions.  Demonstrates knowledge of Empower transaction and procedural requirements.
    • Updates and maintains account history and daily activity records based on participant calls in order to develop/track future consultation opportunities. Will be required to track and monitor the success rate and overall customer satisfaction through the sales process.
    • Partners with the designated Participant Service Center team to provide a seamless engagement with participants and ensure timely resolution of issues and questions.

    Other duties as assigned which may involve some or all of the following: staff meetings, product seminars/training, meeting all federal and state requirements as they pertain to securities and insurance regulations etc., in support of strategic department and firm initiatives.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience
    • MBA preferred
    • FINRA Series 7, 63 registrations & 65, CRPC or CFP required within corporate-established timelines.
    • FINRA fingerprinting required
    • 4+ years’ sales/service experience in financial services or 401k industry
    • 1-2 years of previous inside sales experience preferred
    • Solid practical understanding of Great West/Empower’s policies and procedures as well as Great-West/Empower product offerings preferred
    • Demonstrated organizational skills; strong written, verbal and presentation skills
    • Comprehensive PC skills including the ability to quickly learn Empower Retirement’s record keeping system
    • Exceptional at delivering effective client consultations – always composed and professional
    • Proven ability to navigate multiple client needs and deliver on multi-product sales goals

     

    Frequent use of office equipment including PC, phone, fax, copier.  May sit for long periods of time.  May stand, stoop, reach, pull and push on occasion.
