    As an account executive at Great West Financial/Empower Retirement, you manage and coordinate the development and production of great marketing communications across all media. You will work closely with your customer to learn and understand market needs.   You will be an ambassador for the brands/products/segments that you support.   You must champion and partner the brands/products with media managers and creative services.   You will present and refine the marketing communications produced working closely with your customers.   And, you will coordinate the measurement to assure that the work produces results.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Strong knowledge in our clients business and industry.  Uncover and compile best practices in media execution information, including competitive activity, emerging trends, complementary industries, etc.  Provide timely reporting of same, including implications for client business.
    • Relate business knowledge/goals back to marketing and advertising (creative) goals.
    • Maintain and update brand reviews (or brand books), to be used for briefing internal and external audiences.
    • Facilitate and participate in the preparation and presentation of the creative brief both to the teams and to the client.
    • Manage the creative development process in partnership with creative team, media specialists and traffic managers.
    • Deliver constructive feedback on creative in development, with particular attention to whether the work is on strategy and works to meet marketing/business objectives.
    • Present creative product to clients for feedback/approvals.
    • Manage the process of getting compliance approvals.
    • Work with production departments to manage delivery of campaigns.
    • Work with Financial Manager to manage budgets/estimates/expenses for marketing activities.   Keep customers informed of all costs/estimates.
    • Partner with marketing effectiveness team to develop and appropriate measurement tools for each campaign.
    • For internal meetings, confirm that decisions reached, documented and communicated to all necessary parties.  Be a facilitator for any follow-up conversations or to clear up confusion.

    Qualifications

    What You Bring to the Role

    • 2-3 years of experience at a full service ad agency
    • Demonstrate facility with the basic principles of marketing and advertising, an appreciation for a great creative product and a desire to build a career in the industry
    • Detail oriented with a “zero defects” mentality
    • Outstanding client service skills- paramount to establishing credibility with clients
    • Proactive.  A self-starter.  Thinking two steps ahead of your client.  Have a plan and work the plan.
    • The ability to work in teams, both as a team member and a leader
    • Diplomacy—how to manage the needs and agendas of diverse professionals who are typically starved for time and patience.  How to motivate them
    • Forge solid relationships with other agency departments and business units
    • Present yourself professionally both internally and with our clients
    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
    • Willingness to devote personal time to augment “on-the-job” training with personal reading and “extra-curricular” projects
    • Good listening skills to really “hear” what the client is asking for

    What We Hope You Have

    • Bachelor's Degree in Advertising or Business

    Addition Requirements for the Role

    • FINRA Series 6 registration(s) permitted, but not required.  Corporate-established timelines apply to permitted registrations, FINRA fingerprinting required.
